Metro Home Editor's Review

Created by the same developer who made the gorgeous widget for Windows Seven and Vista, HTC Home, (which we reviewed in the past), today we're going to present another good looking widget that you might like. It's called Metro Home and can display on your desktop the time, date, 5-day weather forecast (including the current one) and your pictures slide-show.

The widget doesn't need installation, you just have to extract the files contained by the downloaded (zip) file and launch 'MetroHome'. After that, the widget will appear in the center of your screen. Just drag it to the place that you want it. To prevent accidental re-location, right click the widget to get into the content menu and set it pin to location that you've chosen. In the right-click content menu, you can also find the option to re-size the widget and to make it stay-on-top of other applications.

If you step into the widget settings from the right-click content menu, you can change the weather provider (Foreca, FreeMeteo, MSN), the refresh interval of the weather, the slide-show and the time format and well as unit of measurement (Celsius or Fahrenheit). From here, you can also choose your location to receive the correct weather and time information. From the right-click content menu you can also step into the Metro Home Settings where you can enable Windows Aero view, set the language and make the widget start automatically with Windows.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: As HTC Home, Metro Home is another great looking clock and weather forecast widget for Windows Seven and Vista. Personally, I like HTC Home more but it's just a matter of taste.
